At Esso1, we are committed to safeguarding the personal data of our customers that we may collect in connection with our Esso Smiles Driver Rewards™ programme or other services we provide to our customers of the Esso service stations in Singapore. As such, we have prepared the information below which will help you better understand how we handle your personal data.

We may collect, use and disclose your personal data in the manner and for the purposes set out in our General Notification on Personal Data Collection, Use & Disclosure for Esso Smiles members when you sign up to be our Esso Smiles member or in the course of providing you with other services. This helps us provide you with an all-inclusive customer experience at Esso, and also helps us bring greater value to our customers.
When you sign up for specific services (e.g. conversion services under our Esso Smiles Driver Rewards programme), we may need to collect, use and disclose your personal data in the manner and for the purposes set out in specific notifications issued in connection with such services which will be made available on our Esso Smiles website (see, for example, the Specific Notification on Personal Data Collection, Use & Disclosure for Conversion Services).

Certain types of personal data are required for provision of specific services. If you omit to provide such personal data as requested or withdraw your consent to our continued use or disclosure of such personal data as may be notified to you at the time of collection or in our General Notification on Personal Data Collection, Use & Disclosure for Esso Smiles Members or other specific notifications available on the Esso Smiles website, we may be unable to provide you with our services in full.
Services we provide to our customers may be provided by us directly or through third parties such as, the operators of our Esso service stations, or our affiliates or other third party service providers who may be located within or outside of Singapore. Disclosure of your personal data to such other parties may be necessary in order for us to provide you with the services. However, please rest assured that there will be appropriate contractual provisions in place to safeguard the confidentiality of your personal data.
In addition, we have also implemented appropriate physical, technical, and administrative measures to safeguard and secure the personal data that we may collect from our customers. As soon as reasonably practicable, we will cease retention of your personal data when it is no longer necessary for any legal or business purposes. We also require the same from the operators of our Esso service stations, our affiliates and other third party service providers who may be located within or outside of Singapore who are assisting us in providing services to our customers.
When we make changes to this Personal Data Protection Statement, we will post the changes on this page and update the revision date at the top of the page. We encourage you to view our Personal Data Protection Statement regularly for updates.
